67th Cannes Festival Special Edition!: Celebs on File 180
The 67th Cannes Film Festival special! Robert Pattinson, most famous for his role in the teen vampire Twilight trilogy, unveiled two new films during Cannes. Stalking the steps with Australian actor Guy Pearce, Pattinson promoted the post-apocalyptic drama The Rover. Pattinson then appeared later at a press conference alongside costar Julianne Moore to discuss the movie Map to the Stars. Julianne Moore had a very active Cannes season, joining her Hunger Games costars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth et al. to plug the popular film series. Some of the toughest (and most famous) collection of Hollywood actors Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes were on hand for the premier of the action film extravaganza The Expendables 3.
Ryan Gosling returned to Cannes in a different capacity this year, promoting his directorial debut Lost River. Steve Carell earned rave reviews for his haunting role in The Fox Catcher, a film based on a true story, in which he plays a psychopath. In the Cannes press conference joined by his costars Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum, he discussed the process of depicting a serious character compared to his normal comedic persona.
Hollywood stars continued to drift through Cannes for work and for partying! Major players Kelly Preston and John Travolta hosted a star-studded bash at the Puerto Azul. The Cannes party season did not stop there. The Cinema Against AIDS Gala held annually during the Cannes Festival raised $35 million this year for the organization. In attendance were A-list celebs including Jane Fonda, Justin Bieber, Cara Delevingne, Paris Hilton, Tamara Ecclestone, Michelle Rodriguez, Dita Von Teese, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Kylie Minogue and Heidi Klum.
